'BOOKWORM' App

The Book Store App

BOOKWORM App UI Design by Agrizha Puspita Sari

This app is designed for readers and users to explore the store either for lending the book or purchasing.

Overview

Bookworm is a playful bookstore app that simplifies discovering, lending, and buying books. Its intuitive navigation helps readers of all ages browse with ease.

Tool: Figma

Duration: 4 weeks.

This project is an individual project by me with academic observations and UI research throughout the most used bookstore apps in the market.

Problem Statement

This project examines popular bookstore apps to uncover pain points and craft a more convenient, fun experience. Bookworm removes unnecessary steps so readers can purchase a book quickly.

Users and Audience

This app can be used regardless of the age of the users, which means that every user of all ages can use it, as this app features 'categories' of books and a member account based on the age of the account user.

Roles and Responsibilities

I researched which in-app features users found unnecessary, such as complex search flows, then simplified them.

Process

Research to Understand - doing research is the most important step to start with. First, we looked at the most used book store apps, such as Barnes and Noble, ThriftBooks, Bookstores.app, and BookOfTheMonth. Each element is filled with text but lacks clear selling points. Users face too many buttons when they want to view a book and add it to the cart. Too many options are offered, which makes it a bit inconvenient for users to navigate the app and store websites.

Solutions - removing unnecessary features allows easy navigation. This approach guides the UI design. Therefore, Bookworm has it all, bringing users straight ahead to simplicity in purchasing a book.

Final Product

However, Bookworm is only an app NOT a store, which means that the app does not offer a 'Pick-up' option.
